There are a lot of benefits for this technology including more mobile customers, ability to push notifications, works offline, users can save it to their home screen etc. On top of that, they are easy to build and maintain.

Single Page Sites

Single page sites are also one of the web design trends in 2018. Why? It’s because of the simplicity! These types of sites are a win-win-win. Developers win because they are easy to build, maintain and host. Business owners can have their site up and running cheaply. And the users win because they are easy to use, unlike multiple pages site with complex structure and navigations.

This type of site is a long web-page with all the necessary information. Users can navigate to any particular section by clicking a link or arrows (it loads instantly). Also, they are useful because they look good on mobiles and desktops alike. Mobile users can just keep on scrolling instead of following complex navigations.

24/7 Online Support via Chatbots

Chatbots are computer programs used to stimulate a conversation with a human. The use of chatbots is increasing at a quick pace. With its increase in eCommerce and online stores, people are also becoming comfortable with it. Businesses want to attract more customers with 24/7 live chat support but they also don’t want to pay for a 24-hours customer service department. Integrating a chatbot can help them get rid of customer service department.

Although chatbots are still in their initial phase, they still can really help. They can answer some queries, direct a user to informational resources etc. On the top of that, they are cheap and can increase user engagement. Chatbots are one of the trending websites technologies.

Until now almost half the sites on the internet have started using HTTPS. It stands for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure. Many webmasters have started shifting to HTTPS after Google encouraged them for using it by making it a ranking signals. A study conducted by SemRush (Ranking factors Semrush study 2.0) showed that secure HTTP is one of a strong ranking signal for Google. In addition to this, Chrome also shows a “Secure” keyword in its top bar for sites using HTTPS. Here’s what Google thinks about it…

HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) is an internet communication protocol that protects the integrity and confidentiality of data between the user’s computer and the site. Users expect a secure and private online experience when using a website. We encourage you to adopt HTTPS in order to protect your users’ connections to your website, regardless of the content on the site.

Push Notifications

If you are an online marketer, you’d have probably listened to it from time to time that money is in the list. But the problem is that nowadays people don’t want to share their email with everyone. According to Statista spam messages accounted for 59.56% of email traffic worldwide. So people are not ready to share their email to take the risk of being spammed. And here push notifications come in handy.

One of the most powerful features of web apps is the ability to send a push notification. Once the user enabled you to send them push notifications, you can send them notifications of your choice which will increase user engagement. This ability can also be achieved with websites using push notification services. It is one of the web technolgies and development trends in 2018.
